They will try to cheat you out of your bankbook, etc. by saying such things as.
To prevent damage, set your phone to go to voicemail even when you are at home and do not talk to the person on the other end of the line.
If you receive a suspicious call, please call 110 or the Kimitsu Police Station.

Also, several decades ago, telephone numbers, names, and addresses of landline phones were published in telephone directories.
That data from decades ago is a treasure trove for scammers.
