Tateyama Wild Bird Forest will hold an event to experience making full-scale wood carved small birds （ Bird carving ）.
Using balsa wood, which is easy to process, visitors can make
bird carvings of familiar birds such as Japanese bush warblers ・ white-eyes ・ titmice ・ sparrows.
The balsa wood is carved into the shape of a full-size bird using a balsa saw ・ a cutout knife ・ and a carving knife
and other tools, and then painted to resemble real birds using photographs as a model. They also make a perch by fixing a branch to a stand.
Children and beginners are welcome to join the workshop as we carefully explain the process.
